M-Cube 02 Laser Level Premium Combo

Really cool tech and very fun to use. I love this laser level. It is so much more than just a laser level though. With the Mcube attached it can do all kinds of measurements and things to help you hang paintings, install wall fixtures, trim,, etc.

This thing is fantastic.

I actually use it differently than how I thought I would most of the time.

If you already have a laser level cube, you can mount it to the attachment and stick it to any wall. This way you don't have to mess with a tripod that probably isn't tall enough.

In terms of value, I think its a bit steep for a casual home gamer which seems like who this is for. If you have a dad that wants for nothing this is probably a fantastic gift as I didn't know this existed.

this thing is pretty cool. It is very complicated though. Figuring out the different functions takes a bit of reading and playing around with it. It has some additional modules you can get for it as well. What it doesn’t do is throw a plumb line all around a room nor is there apparently a module for that which would be most useful for me when putting up wainscoting or something. It also doesn’t do very well if there is an obstruction somewhere along the wall that it’s throwing the laser down. So if there’s a door with a jam protruding in the middle of the wall, it gets blocked by that.

that said, the battery life on this is great. The vacuum that sticks it to the wall is quite cool and really effective on multiple types of walls. Yeah I’m a little worried that it’ll fall off eventually but it says it will alert you before it gets to that though I haven’t gotten near that yet with the battery life. if you take the laser module off the base it is quite an effective measuring tool as well. The green laser seems to go a lot further and measuring then a cheaper red one that I have in my garage. I was able to measure all the way to my neighbor’s house.

As only an occasional DIYer, I didn't see the need for a laser level but after using this unit, I can't believe I've gone so long without one. In the past, I've had to struggle with a level to mount picture frames or have someone else hold the level. With this unit, it's a one person operation. The same goes for a set of shelves I recently installed.
The unit secured well to different surfaces with little effort. As a test, I experimented with textured walls, smooth surfaces and a granite wall in my shower. It held!
The green beam is very strong. No problem using it in a brightly lit room.
It has so many uses I'm now looking for projects around the house. Very highly recommended.
